Marvel and Disney Threaten to Leave Georgia over ‘Freedom of Faith Act’!

Marvel and Disney have decided they are not in support of Georgia’s new ‘Free Exercise Protection Act‘, which allows private Religious institutions the right to practice their beliefs regarding Same Sex Marriage, without penalty of law. Disney and Marvel Executives have threatened to pull out of the state of Georgia altogether, because they obviously do not agree with a low that would keep the Government from forcing Churches to hire Homosexuals and or marry them. While Disney and Marvel claim to be ‘inclusive’ companies, it appears they want to be inclusive of everyone accept for Christians. Walt Disney Studios has threatened to leave Georgia if that state’s proposed “Free Exercise Protection Act,” which offers protections to faith-based organizations, is signed into law.
The act would offer protection to faith-based organizations that refuse to provide services they say violate their beliefs, including services around same-sex marriages.
“Disney and Marvel are inclusive companies, and although we have had great experiences filming in Georgia, we will plan to take our business elsewhere should any legislation allowing discriminatory practices be signed into state law,” said a spokesman for the studio.
A Disney disappearance would present a sizeable challenge to Georgia’s entertainment economy, since many recent films from Marvel, which is owned by Disney, have been shot in and around Atlanta.
Pinewood Studios, outside Atlanta, for example, has served as the site for “Ant-Man,” the upcoming “Captain America: Civil War” and “Guardians of the Galaxy 2.”
